21st March, 2018 – The six main sponsors of EuroSkills Budapest 2018 signed the declaration of intent for sponsorship at a press conference, in the presence of Mihály Varga, Minister for National Economy. Young professionals who are the best in their country will compete in Budapest between 26th and 28th September in order to win the best of the continent title. The main sponsors of the event will be AUDI Hungária Zrt, DMG MORI Hungary Kft, a Festo Kft, a KITE Zrt, a Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft and SIEMENS Zrt.
For the first time in the history of EuroSkills, the competition will be held in Eastern Europe with full support of the Ministry of National Economy, organized by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Nearly 600 highly skilled young professionals from 28 countries will take part in this years’ competition, predictably in 40 skills, proving that their exceptional knowledge and talent is truly beneficial for the national economy. The past 10 years, the Hungarian team’s performance at EuroSkills has been outstanding, proven by the 57 medals they won in total.
The main sponsors signed the declaration in the presence of Mihály Varga, Minister of National Economy and by signing they also showed support for the importancy of vocational education in Hungary. The signing was part of the press conference of EuroSkills Budapest 2018 which was opened by László Parragh Dr., the President of Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mihály Varga, Minister of National Economy also gave a speech in which he highlighed the importance of the competition and its contribution to the Hungarian economy.
’Winning the right to host this great competition was the result of our internationally recognized efforts that the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Government have put into making positive changes to vocational education in the country. Our main focus during making these improvements has been to be able to provide high quality education to students and the competition is one of the biggest tools that will help us achieve our goals’ – Mihály Varga explained.
