At 4th December 2016, at the Closing Ceremony of EuroSkills Göteborg 2016 the organizers handed over the flag of EuroSkills to the next host – Hungary. The organizers of EuroSkills Budapest 2018 proudly welcome the competition in Budapest for the first time in Central Eastern Europe between 26 and 28 September 2018.

The EuroSkills competition is an outstanding opportunity to draw the attention of pupils and their parents to the vocational training opportunities, and will provide an excellent possibility to improve the reputation and recognition of the Euroskills movement in Hungary, and successfully contributes giving due respect to skilled work.

Let’s get down to work, time to take on the challenge! Budapest is looking forward to welcoming the competitors, experts and everybody interested in the competition from all around Europe.

From EuroSkills Göteborg 2016 where more than 500 young professionals from 28 nations across the continent contested in 35 skills Team Hungary (16 young competitors in 14 skills) is proudly brought home 2 Silvers, 4 Bronzes, and 5 Medallion of Excellences, displaying outstanding achievements during the European Championship of skills.

The two silver medals went to our ICT Specialist and Joinery competitors, and the Bronzes for our Beauty Therapy, Welding, Hairdressing, and Floristry competitors. Mechatronics, Cabinetmaking and Health and Social Care were awarded with Medallions of Excellence. The haul places Team Hungary eight out of 28 in the overall medal table.

According to Mr László Parragh, the Hungarian team achieved an excellent and honorable accomplishment, in a competition with the highest number of participants of Euroskills history.
